Pick a piece of art and compare it to the characteristics of your sub genre
First of all I was very attracted to this particular painting because if you look closely you can see some smoke rising from a factory in the back. Since in this time period there was a big industrial revolution I don't know I just thought that was very cool. I thought I could compare this to the very dark type of poetry most of us think of when someone says Victorian poetry. You can kind of tell it's a very gloomy scene with the rain clouds. Just overal not a very cheerful painting. There is not much more to say I would just say overal I thought it represented this era very well. I'd be interested to see what you would have to say (if anyone reads this besides miss Harrison).
